About Us
We believe that community participation is key in making a meaningful social change.
By nature, we —the youths —have the desire to make the world a better place, even if that world is only the small world of one community. What’s important to note is that positive change in a community doesn’t stop at what is visible, but it also extends to what is felt and experienced.
In order to make a change that is not only impactful, but also meaningful, it’s necessary to hear and see from the perspectives of those who want that change. That’s why we focus on nurturing a participatory mindset, to ensure the full participation of the community directly impacted by social issues so that real change can be made —from them, by them, and for them.
We work to assist young social change practitioners mainstream participation in their practices, be it on an individual or organizational level.
About Us
Inequality is on the rise. It is creating a growing gap between the privileged and the marginalized, and addressing this issue is now more critical than ever.
We believe that there is a collective responsibility to create a fair and just society. That is why Participate exists to break silos among stakeholders, disciplines, and methodologies so that we can work together toward achieving meaningful changes.
With participation at the forefront of our social change practices, we engage a diverse group of stakeholders who are representative of the communities that policies and programs will impact, not only in consultative roles to provide input, but also to co-plan or lead program development efforts, have access to data and resources to make informed decisions, have decision-making authority, and participate in the analysis of data and program impact efforts.
Our initiatives are centered around 3 main objectives:
- Cultivating a participatory mindset in creating change
- Creating an environment that supports a participatory mindset in driving change
- Facilitating cross-sector collaboration to prioritize participation in initiatives aimed at creating change

Our Approach
xChange
A social change should be a lasting transformation where communities get the chance to continue producing knowledge and finding new learnings, hence creating a development that is sustainable.
Our initiative uses a collaborative and cyclical learning approach adapted from the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method in social change. This cycle ensures a shared understanding between social change practitioners and the targeted community. At the core of xChange process, there are:
- Action
- Participation
- Transformational change
- Reflectivity & reflexivity
How we plan to achieve this
We provide two main services:
We help accelerate development reforms with like-minded organizations.
We cultivate a participatory mindset in every change-maker through
We internalize the participatory mindset
Your heart might be all set on participating to make a change, but is your mind also set on letting the community affected by the problems participate as well? We make sure that everyone involved in the process towards change start with these questions:
Who owns the problem?
Who are you on this?
Whose reality counts?
